Our green policy

We are working toward becoming a “Net Zero” carbon business by 2030.

We are a proud member of the SME Climate Hub, a global initiative that empowers small to medium-sized companies to take climate action and build more resilient businesses. Through the SME Climate Hub, we commit to lowering our impact on the environment through authentic action, halving our emissions by 2030. In making the commitment, we have joined the United Nations Race to Zero campaign.

We have already taken great steps toward this, including:

  • Our electricity supply is at least 80% “zero carbon” electricity produced by wind, solar, and nuclear power.

  • We are proud to use local produce wherever possible. We feel that it not only supports the local economy and reduces “food miles” but, as the produce is often of a higher quality, it also tastes so much better!

  • We also use Fair Trade and Organic Products. Our in-room coffee machines use fully biodegradable and compostable pods.

  • We recycle all glass, cardboard, cans, newspapers, magazines and plastic bottles on your behalf.

  • Where possible, we use low-energy, long-life light bulbs both internally and externally.

  • We do not leave any electrical appliances on stand-by and ask our guests to do the same with the appliances in their bedrooms.

  • As part of our Green Policy, we try to protect the environment by conserving water and energy and reducing the use of detergent. We, therefore, operate both a towel and bedding policy. Your laundry is also washed using environmentally friendly products and energy-efficient machines.

  • We encourage guests to leave their cars and walk! We provide a wealth of information on public transport, local walks, and cycle routes and are committed to catering to the needs of walkers and cyclists.
